Did you know that Americans drink roughly 16 million gallons of beer a day? With so many craft breweries popping up all over the US of A, we’ve decided to highlight some of America’s most beloved classics and some of its newer and highly praised breweries. Now let’s take a look at some American brews from every corner of the country!

Southwest:
Spoetzl Brewery – Shiner, TX
This Lone Star classic was founded in 1909 and is famous for its line of Shiner beers. In fact, Shiner Bock is currently distributed in 43 states. Family-owned under the Gambrinus Company in San Antonio, Spoetzl is the fourth largest craft brewery and 10th largest overall brewery in the U.S.

Southeast:
Abita Brewing Co. – Abita Springs, LA
Founded in 1986, Abita Brewing Company is located just north of New Orleans, and produces seven flagship brews and five seasonal brews year-round. This year, it landed at No. 14 on the Brewers Association’s list of the top 50 U.S. craft brewing companies.

Midwest:
Goose Island Brewery – Chicago, IL
Originally started as a single brewpub in Chicago called Clybourn, Goose Island has grown into one of the most popular craft breweries in the country. It is best known for 312 Urban Wheat Ale and Honker’s Ale, but boasts a wide selection of year-round and seasonal ales as well as sodas and root beer.

West Coast:
Lagunitas Brewing Co – Petaluma, CA
A younger craft brewery, founded in 1993, Lagunitas is well known for their unique interpretations of traditional beer styles and less-than-reverent descriptions on their packaging. If you’re looking for something hoppy to help you celebrate, any Lagunitas beer is a great place to start!

Northeast:
Yuengling Brewery – Pottsville, PA
Founded in 1829, D.G. Yuengling and sons is the oldest operating brewery in the country. They even continued brewing through Prohibition, producing nearly non-alcoholic beer. A classic for a reason, this American beer is the perfect choice to help you celebrate American Beer Day!
