This Father’s Day Forget the Socks, Because These Drink Recipes Rock!

Father’s Day is Sunday! And while Dad must love receiving those “World’s Greatest Dad” t-shirts, why not mix things up this year and celebrate Dad with these delicious cocktails that have a modern twist? This is the perfect way to show Dad just how much you care! Here are 6 great Dad-inspired drink recipes:

Like Father, Like Yum!

½ oz bourbon
¼ oz Grand Marnier
¼ oz sweet vermouth
1 oz orange juice
Orange wheel for garnish

Combine all ingredients in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with an orange wheel and serve.

Man-tini

2 oz vodka
½ oz dry vermouth
½ oz whiskey
Olives for garnish

Pour whiskey into a chilled martini glass and swirl to coat the inside of the glass. In a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice, add vodka and vermouth. Shake well and strain into your glass. Garnish with olives.

Godfather

2 oz blended scotch whiskey
1 oz amaretto
Cherry for garnish

Pour ingredients over ice into a rocks glass and stir. Garnish with a cherry.

Daddy’s Swirl

12 oz Dad’s favorite lager
2 oz tequila
3 oz frozen limeade
2 lime wedges
Salt to rim the glass

Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip in the salt. Pour ingredients into an ice-filled glass and garnish with a lime wedge.

Fizz and Pops

2 oz gin
1 oz lime juice
¾ oz simple syrup
5 mint sprigs
Splash of club soda
Lime wedge for garnish

Muddle mint in a cocktail shaker. Add gin, lime juice, simple syrup and ice and shake well. Strain over ice and top with club soda. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Old-Fashioned

2 oz rye or bourbon whiskey
2 dashes of bitters
1 tsp water
1 tsp sugar
2 orange slices
2 cherries

Muddle one cherry, one orange slice, sugar, bitters and water in a chilled glass. Remove the orange rind. Add whiskey and ice and stir well. Garnish with the remaining cherry and orange slice.
