American Craft Beer Week Begins!

This is a big week for small breweries! It’s American Craft Beer Week and we’ve got a ton to celebrate, especially in Texas.

In 2013, the Brewers Association listed 2,822 American microbreweries, 96 of which were in Texas. In 2014, the numbers jumped to 3,464, including 119 in Texas. That’s a 24% increase in Texas breweries. And this year alone, more than 60 craft breweries are slated to open right here in Texas!

So get out there and celebrate a true American art form this week—just swing by Spec’s for the latest and greatest collection of local crafts!

Smoked Pineapple Margarita

Ingredients: Directions: Rim a cocktail glass with lime wedge and dip into chili salt. Fill with ice. In a shaker, muddle the lime juice, mint leaves, agave, and pineapple.  Add the tequila, Cointreau and fill with ice. Shake well and strain into cocktail glass and garnish with a pineapple wedge and mint leaves, as desired.
