The ume is only grown in japan china korea and taiwan and the best fruits are grown in minabe district of wakayama prefecture near osaka. 15% abv choya umeshu is aged for 12 years and the bottle contains whole plums. The miniature version (5cl bottle) also contains a whole plum and has a natty rip top lid. It is sweetend with honey and contains no added sugar.
