Macgavin’s Single Malt • Speyside
$255.73 / case(6)
Alexander macgavin company is a listed on the label as the bottle though there’s little information about them. Our guess is that they’re a bottler buying up stocks of whiskey from the major distilleries and represent each as a regional bottling. If we’re right then single malt would mean a blend of regionally-specific single malt whiskey but not from a single distillery (or it at least gives them the freedom to switch sourcing distilleries which would introduce some variability between bottlings). They are a value buy and various blog reports suggest they’re a good way to get introduced to regional differences in single malt scotch. 40% abv macgavin’s speyside single malt is of course from the islay region suggesting a very light peat smoke and floral/fruit flavor notes.
