Chateau D’esclans Rock Angel Rose

Grapes grown from chateau d’esclans’ vineyard consisting primarily of grenache and rolle (vermentino). Harvesting at sunrise to noon. Grapes are sorted by optical eye electronically and manually three times. Destemming and slight crushing at 7-8c to avoid oxydation. Free run juice and first slight pressing. No maceration. Both free run juice and pressed juice partially vinified in demi-muids (600l barrels) and stainless steel both temperature controlled. Decanter 92 points a pale barely-there pinl with a pure youthful nose that is both fresh yet intense on the palate. Citrus-rinsed redcurrant fruits from both grenache and rolle] with no noticeable oak although it is aged partially in 600 litre barrels. Jane anson wine spectator 90 points this has a creamy edge with strawberry and white raspberry fruit. A stony spine supports the blood orange and rose water notes that streak throughout.
