Chateau Pegau Setier Cotes Du Rhone Villages Rouge

Setier is an ancient size used for measuring grain and wine. It is a type of stone bowl which has a capacity of 66 litres. Soil type: the variable slopes of the vineyards are covered with different size pebbles. The land is similar to that found in chateauneuf du pape. Wine production: the grapes are harvested manually. There is strict sorting of the bucket both in the tractor and in the dumpster. No destemming as the separate grape varieties are passed and soaked for 10 days. No yeast are addede and there is no temperature control during this process of fermentation. Following this light amounts of tartric acid and sulphur are added. The wine was bottled in the spring of 2013. Tasting note: colour: a deep clear red nose: plenty of liquorice tar and red cherry. Palate: powerful and with a expanding finish.
