He wants to bring out the lively and bright flavors of zinfandel grapes and he finds these at lower alcohol levels. It is an aromatic grape and his aim is to carry these flavors into the wine. While the 2013 was a drier growing season and bit riper vintage it compares closely to the 2012 vintage but more lively fruit and a more aromatic nose. A rich boisterous wine the 2013 zinfandel literally jumps from the glass with exuberant racy red fruits. Aging in steel keeps the flavors bright focused and floral throughout.
