Description
Cotes du rhone is a large appelation in southern france & the wines are quite diverse due to different soils micro- climates & a fairly liberal set of grape varietals that can be used. This one from piaugier uses grenache carignan cinsault & syrah from 45 year old vines that are farmed organically. It shares all the qualities of the region’s best; including a complex spicy garrigue bouquet & flavor medium-full body & a very soft palate-feel. It’s very satisfying. One of the things that we like most about good cotes due rhone red is that they pair nicely with a very wide range of foods from stews & roasts to pizzas cheeses & root vegetable dishes.
