Leitz Rudesheimer Magdalenekreuz Riesling Spatlese
Further east and upstream of the klosterlay is the magdalenenkreuz. The name translates to the cross of mary magdalene named after a red sandstone cross that can be found amongst the vines. Here the soils are comprised of sandy loamfatter and ideal for ripe expression; the riesling grown here is always textured opulent and forward. Though the wine is of sptlese quality it perceivably drinks more like a kabinett.
