Sextant Wheelhouse Zinfandel

”winemaking: our flagship zinfandel is sourced entirely from rbz vineyard our estate vineyard in the el pomar district of paso robles. Blended with 15% petite syrah for color and 9% syrah for a savory edge we aged this wine for 20 months in a mix of french hungarian and american oak barrels. Tasting notes: if wine could smile the sextant wheelhouse would always be ready for its close-up. A vibrant profile features wild strawberry and raspberry signatures as spice and earthy tones appear on the mid-palate. The finish is smooth laced with a hint of satisfying tartness. While so enjoyable by itself on a care-free afternoon it’s also quite versatile to pair with dishes later in the evening: barbecued tri-tip roasted artichokes spicy thai beef on a bed of lemon grass or french onion soup dripping with swiss gruyere.
