The vineyeard montagny 1er cru is a white wine made from chardonnay grapes. This hillside vineyard is located above the villages of jully les buxy and saint vallerin with an east-southeastward exposure. Brittle limestone and calcareous clay hillside. Black soils with little density and rock covered. Aging process 12 to 14 months in oak barrels. Tasting notes the nose is dominated by floral hints which gradually give progress to honey and dried fruits (hazelnut). A full-bodied elegant fine wine. The power of chagnots combined with is richness usually makes it a very good wine for laying down. Accompaniment salmon or tuna tartar codfish with mild spices fish terrine caramelised king prawns or sea food ravioli gratin and delicate and refined dishes all pair perfectly with the finesse and richness of our montagny 1er cru. The charolais veal with its white sauce bresse poultry and cheeses (comte beaufort emmental goat) are also excellent accompaniments for this wine. Located on the co;te chalonnaise south of burgundy the givry region produces primarily red wines. The parcels face from east to southeast and range from 240 to 280 meters high. The grapes are planted on calcareous soil. The subsoil is composed mainly of limestone. Aging process the wine is aged in oak barrels. Tasting notes a brilliant crimson colour with purplish glints the bouquet is reminiscent of aromas which are typical of pinot noir(blackcurrant morello cherry) with liquorice spices and leather with age. The tannins are present in the mouth but not dominant. This is a racy wine. Accompaniment pates and meat dishes are the perfect match for this fine wine. Also excellent with roasted or grilled meats served with sauces as well as soft-crust cheeses such as camembert reblochon and brie. Advice best consumed within eight years after harvest.
