63% Cabernet Sauvignon 35% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot from a now specific plot on the west side of the D2 (seperate from Ch. Ducru Beaucaillou) fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and aged in all French oak barrels (60% new). Red-purple color with well-formed legs; dry medium-full bodied with balanced acidity and medium phenolics. Lovely fresh but ripe and even powerful with red fruit. Notes of pencil shavings gravel and tobacco leaf with real depth. Best Croix Ducru Beaucaillou ever. BearScore: 96
