El Espolon Anejo tequila is their aged (anejo) expression having aged for a full 2 years in Canadian Oak. 40% ABV 80 Proof El Espolon tequilas are made in the small Destiladora San Nicolas founded recently in 1998. They are made in an all-natural process meant to celebrate the heritage of Mexican tequila-making. They use estate-grown agave for their tequila. All aging is done in Canadian Oak. The brand and distillery were acquired by Gruppo Campari in 2009; the label itself was re-imagined re-formulated and re-launched 3 years later in 2013.
