Jeppson Malort Liqueur

I was introduced to Malort by a member of the MC community. Since then, I’ve kept a bottle close by and present it every chance I get.
We were recently at a karaoke bar downtown Austin and jokingly I requested a shot of Malort. The bartender said she had it at her apartment, and the bouncer asked if I was from Chicago. Him being from Chicago where Malort is made, stated no Chicagoan has Malort in their cupboard other than to serve to visitors as a lark.
Malort is unique, the flavor is a floral minty experience. I imagine it would be like the water from one of my potpourri pots growing up had I ever took a sip. If my eyes could’ve tasted the visual experience of gazing upon the spring fields of tulips and hyacinths in the canals near Hortus Bulborum.
In the loose thoughts of Cousin Eddie, a captivating raw human soul… “Clark, Malort is the spirit that keeps on giving…” Because, just when you think you’ve followed it with enough Coke, tea, Dr Pepper, Citronella (by accident), etc., and you have moved onto to discussing other things and you’re thoughts are deeper… a breath from inside (not a burp) will remind you of the experience.
