”in 2015 we found some fantastic new pinot noir vineyards in mendocino that enabled us to stick to our high standards for crafting high quality rose. While many wineries treat their rose as a fun side project we invest just as much energy into making ours as our other wines. With pinot noir we prefer using 100% whole cluster press – not saignee – to capture the grapes natural bright and pretty aromatics as well as a sense of refreshment. We absolutely insist on hand harvesting the fruit to avoid any bruised or oxidized flavors. The primary source for the 2015 rose is both certified organic and biodynamically farmed. The yields are as low as some of our highest-end single vineyard sources at less than 3 tons per acre. While the final blend makes use of a variety of clones of note is roederer clone 32 a champagne clone known for its high acid and racy bright fruit flavors.
