85% merlot 12% cabernet franc and 3% cabernet sauvignon grown on a terroir adjacent and similar to that of ch. Cheval blanc aged in all french oak barrels (45% new). Red-purple color with well-formed legs; dry medium bodied with freshly balanced acidity and medium phenolics. Supple juicy-ripe red with spice and black tea leaf. More-ripe merlot fruit but the cabernets presence is there. Delicious. Easily the best la dominique of my career. Bearscore: 95+
