85% Merlot 12% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon grown on a terroir adjacent and similar to that of Ch. Cheval Blanc aged in all French oak barrels (45% new). Red-purple color with well-formed legs; dry medium bodied with freshly balanced acidity and medium phenolics. Supple juicy-ripe red with spice and black tea leaf. More-ripe Merlot fruit but the Cabernets presence is there. Delicious. Easily the best la Dominique of my career. BearScore: 95+
