Chateau Phelan Segur St. Estephe
$60.99
While the month of September proved to be changeable it was the search for optimum ripeness that decided the calendar for picking; the Merlots were picked over a period of 11 days. The decision was taken to wait for the Cabernet Sauvignon and the result was convincing. At this stage it is possibly the best Cabernet Sauvignon ever harvested unique for its concentration intensity of flavour and the quality of its tannins. The 2015 vintage was marked by the first crop of Petit Verdot. This gives us hope for very good potential in the years to come and it will be included in the blend for Frank Phelan. The family acquired the Comptoir du Caviar and inaugurated Les 110 de Taillevent in London. 2015 also marks the family’s 30th anniversary at the head of Phelan Segur. – Chateau Phelan Segur *92-94/100 Wine Enthusiast *93-94/100 James Suckling
