Winemaker abe schoener from scholium project and a group of friends including tegan passalaqua from turley have purchased very very old vineyards in the catalonia region of france. This region is right on the border with spain and are more influenced by that region then the rhone. This wine is 100% grenache noir from a vineyard planted in 1960. The wine is dark and brooding showing a huge mouth – feel and firm tannins. The focus is on the black fruit profile with nice primal character.
