Evening Land Blue Label Oregon Pinot Noir
”As one of the driest years on record for Oregon the 2012 vintage provided us with more consistent temperatures than we’ve seen in a while in the Willamette Valley. In fact many have referred to this vintage as epic and we are indeed incredibly pleased with the quality. After two very unique and late years we were happy to return to normal in 2012. Spring provided us with budbreak on target and periods of warm days sprinkled with typical Oregon spring days of cool and rainy weather. The warm summer months provided many sunshine-filled days on end where the grapes enjoyed extended periods of warmth. The cool nights provided the needed cool-down effect to preserve the grapes’ acidity. As a result we saw even ripening throughout the vineyard ripe fruit amazing acid balance and all-around excellent quality. Due to the extended heat and sunshine harvest began a bit earlier than normal in 2012. We hand-picked our Willamette Valley Pinot Noir in the first half of October betwe
