Girard Chardonnay Russian River

Vintage Notes Given the region’s geography and typically cooler climate due to a nightly fog layer we tend to achieve a slower ripening rate than in other regions. 2015 was an extremely light vintage with yields below expectations. Despite bringing in less than anticipated the lower yields helped to produce wines with complexity and depth. Vineyard Notes: Sourced from various vineyards and a few small longtime grape growing families in the Russian River Valley these vineyards have garnered international acclaim for producing world-class Chardonnay. Tasting Notes: The nose suggests fresh apple apple pie a la mode while the palate shows the bright acidity and citrus structure that coats the palate. Macintosh apple and Barlet pear with mandarin zest blend with holiday spice on the finish. – Girard
