The 2016 vintage was exceptional; resulting in not only ample yields but also in extraordinary fruit. The vintage began with above average rainfall in March and April which provided a balanced canopy and setup a healthy vintage from even dry farmed vineyards. The abundance of fruit enabled us to drop more fruit than a typical vintage. This practice allowed for uniform ripening and balance across the vineyards. With a couple of daytime heat spikes in June and July the Zinfandel harvest began the third week of August about three weeks ahead of schedule.
