Vineyards korbel brut rose california champagne is blended to showcase the brightness of the fruit we grow in california’s best wine regions. Each of the four varieties used in this cuvee makes its own unique contribution to the blend. Pinot noir brings a black cherry and strawberry element to the blend while sangiovese adds structure and a red cherry flavor. The gamay portion has a soft raspberry aroma. Chenin blanc is a white variety that keeps the blend delicate and adds a faint melon character. Winemaking we use pinot noir sangiovese and gamay lots that have a noticeable pink hue for our brut rose looking for lots that have generous strawberry and black cherry-like flavors. The goal is to consistently produce a rose that is flavorful bright and aromatic. One interesting aspect of making a rose using the classic methode champenoise process is the color balance. The yeast used in the bottle fermentation process removes some of the color from the champagne and the amo
