Tasting notes: messina hof’s angel is a crisp sweet dessert wine harvested from the last pick of riesling when the grapes are like raisins in order to capture flavors of apple pear and honey. Perfect with fruit cheesecake and light sweet chocolate desserts. Winemaker’s notes: angel was named for its angelic sweetness and in honor of the angels that are carved in stone on the front wall of the messina hof winery in bryan. This wine has been a signature of messina hof since the early 1990s. Grown in the high plains and fermented slowly at very cool temperatures to preserve the aroma.
