An intense flavor of plums vanilla all in a medium bodies wine. Napa ca- aromas of cranberries dark cherries herbs and vanilla. In the mouth the wine is round and polished with just a touch of youthful tannin. The abundant dark fruit flavors carry from the aroma and are underpinned with subtle brooding hints of dark plum and smoke. Slingshot winery cabernet sauvignon is 70% napa from three different esteemed vineyards and 30% north coast. Primarily from the julianna vineyard in pope valley this expressive cab delivers the rich upfront fruit of the northern napa vineyard with the darker tones of the two more southerly mountain vineyards (yes the vineyards make up a large component of another wine in our portfolio that is four times the cost – hint hint). Aged for 22 months in french barrels 30% new. By far this is the best napa cabernet under $30 we have ever tasted.
