”WINEMAKING RECORD The grapes are hand-picked from a select portion of a single vineyard block hand- sorted three times before going into stainless steel fermenters where a combination of state of the art winery technology and old-style winemaking techniques take care of designing this unique hand crafted wine. Fermented at 26oC for 17 days. MATURATION PRIOR TO RELEASE 20 months in 300 litre French oak barrels 25% first 20% second and the rest third fill. WINEMAKERS COMMENTS The Tamboerskloof John Spicer Syrah 2010 is a well structured and balanced opaque purple-black coloured Syrah with a magenta rim and deep intensity. The nose develops with medium but pronounced intensity showing pure red and black berry fruit rose hip as well as savoury meaty notes followed by berry-pastille fruit and complex spices on the palate.
