Trefethen Double T Red

From the beach to the ballroom a seriously good wine at harvest time our estate grapes are picked and fermented in separate lots. As we craft the final blends some of the wines do not meet our target profiles for the classic trefethen wines. So we created double t wines to share these quality estate lots in a truly fun wine at a great price. Many of our vines are trained on a quadrilateral cordon trellis commonly known as double t. The vine is pruned and trained so that its branches or cordons form four arms resembling two ts hence the name. Double t also refers to the two trefethens of which there are now two sets actively involved in our winery: john and janet and now their children loren and hailey. The vintage the spring was warm and dry getting the vines off to an early start. The weather stayed warm throughout the summer but was free of damaging heat spells.
