Cavanagh Spirit Drink is a style of Irish Whiskey though it escapes the actual designation of whiskey. It should not be confused with poitin (a kind of Irish moonshine) but is an aged grain-spirit product. According to the interview with West Cork Distillers’ John O’Connell from How to Drink Whiskey it is a 3yr aged grain spirit that is then steeped in malt to add flavor followed by a Tennessee-whiskey style filtration through charcoal. 40% ABV
