Ultramundo Mezcal

We are a family owned company that produces unique spirits from our own ranch in the Chihuhuan desert. Our story began in 2019 at Rancho Pelayo our cattle ranch spanning over 24 000 acres near Mapim Durango and in the vicinity of the Zona del Silencio. Initially dedicated to grazing cattle we were blessed in this arid land with a vast wild population of Agave Asperrima commonly known as Maguey Lamparillo an exotic and little-known agave variety in the world of mezcal. Ultramundo is exclusively produced using wild agave from our Rancho Pelayo. We harvest only a portion of the plants that reach maturity between 15 to 20 years of age letting at least 20% of the plants go to seed each year for a self-regenerative supply. The production method is completely artisanal using the traditional techniques of this region and the ranch is completely committed natural sustainability and biodiversity. -Ultramundo
