Gelida uses the traditional cava grapes blended with chardonnay all from vineyards in the cooler parts of penedes. This wine spends two-and-a-half years in the bottle on the lees (en tirage). Made in a typical cava-style but with a crisp refreshing character the wine shows lovely doughy apple dumpling and citrus peel aromas and flavors and a long fresh finish. Very good. Spec’s score: 87 points.
