Craft Beer Picks

Do you recall that life-changing moment in time when you took your first sip of craft beer? It was like drinking liquid art. Suddenly the world of beer was different. It was bigger and more exciting! Much like Dorothy leaving her black and white, Kansas farmhouse behind and suddenly landing in the bright technicolor land of Oz, a new world of beer had just blossomed before you! And from that moment on you were going to explore that world and all of its hop-filled, glorious varieties.

If this is you, and you are a craft beer explorer, then you are in luck. Because today we have a selection of amazing craft beer picks, just for you.

Saint Arnold, Spring Bock

This dry hopped German-style Bock celebrates the coming of spring. This is a big, deeply flavored lager that has been aged to create a smooth, malty taste with a touch of sweetness. The malt flavor in this one is balanced by the light addition of German hops.

Stone Brewing, Tangerine Express IPA

This isn’t a “just-add-juice approach”. Stone Brewing uses bountiful whole tangerine purée, which brings pithy, crisp bitterness to the citrus flavor. In addition to the complexities of the tangerine, the likes of which you can only get by using the whole fruit, they added just a hint of a whole pineapple for a back-note (you’d likely not even pick it out of the mix if we didn’t tell you it was there). But don’t let the fruit additions fool you. This bold IPA tastes like an IPA should, big in flavor and hoppiness!

903 Brewer’s Sasquatch Chocolate Milk Stout

A big beer with a big name. This stout is rich and creamy thanks to the addition of milk sugar. It is brewed with chocolate malt and has a heavy dose of cocoa nibs for a chocolate finish and rich aroma.

Alaskan Hopothermia Double IPA

This American Double India Pale Ale, or IPA, is as big and bold as the mythical lone brewer himself. Legend has it that he first came up with this beer, with the help of his woodland friends, to fight against the long frigid winter nights endured by all of the pioneers of the Last Frontier.

That’s it for now, beer lovers. We hope you enjoy exploring these flavorful new craft beer picks. If you want more recommendations, try asking the brew experts at your local Spec’s. Cheers!
