Brennivin is Iceland’s most classic tipple. The stark black label and intense flavor have given rise to the nickname Black Death but the traditional Icelandic schnapps is all about celebrating life! Distilled from grain and flavored with caraway it does not have any sugar added after distillation and therefore is not classified as schnapps in the U.S. This magnificent and enchanting drink is usually used as a shooter but it’s now gaining traction as a solid base for cocktails.
