There are very few ryes of this age and this is an utterly sophisticated elegant whisky. 50% ABV 100 Proof Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt Nose: Good spiciness but mostly this astonishing sweetness – comes in waves of sugar-coated nuts and chocolate raisins. Then a sandalwood hit with vanilla almond and nougat. Hints of Turkish Delights too. Palate: Handfuls of exotic spice sweetness mint chocolate custard then a rapidly building crescendo of rich oak – which is present in a big way but its possibly the softest oak you’ll every try. Finish: The palate develops through the finish with big sweet explosions of spice.
