The vintage the 2015 vintage was one of the warmest growing seasons on record in washington. Warm temperatures continued through the spring and summer moderating slightly into fall and extending an early harvest. Overall 2015 saw very favorable growing conditions producing optimal ripening across varieties and yielding outstanding wines throughout the region. Winemaking grapes were sourced from vineyards throughout the columbia valley including the horse heaven hills. The fruit was de-stemmed and crushed before undergoing 7-10 day fermentations. Merlot and other varieties were blended in to build structure and complexity. The wine was aged for several months in a combination of american and french oak barrels to soften and round the blend. Flavor profile the 14 hands cabernet sauvignon is a rich juicy red that features aromas of dark cherry black currant coffee and subtle hints of spice.
