Chateau Climens Barsac 2006

History: The history of the Chateau dates back to the sixteent century perhaps even before the name 'Climens' appeared for the first time on a contract dating from 1547. Since then only 4 owners one another at the head of Chateau Climens. Guirault Roborel the district attorney of Barsac inherited the land from his father and became the first owner. The Roborel family will then integrate the estate's name into their own thereby becoming the Roborel Climens. They will develop the vineyard with passion until the early nineteenth century. Eloi Lacoste a Bordeaux wine merchant will be the second owner of the estate. He had the chance to see Chateau Climens be listed as a 'Premier Cru' in the 1855 classification. The Gounouilhous a famous family of printers from Bordeaux was thebe third owner and ran Chateau Climens for nearly a century. The fourth and last known owner to date is Lucien Lurton who already owns famous 'Crus Classes' in the Medoc and who bought Chateau Climens
