A blend of 90% Malbec 5% Merlot and 5% Tannat grown on a mix of of stony clay over limestone. A punch down fermentation starts the 30-day maceration. Malolactic fermentation is in oak barrels. Aged 21 months in a mix of new (about 1/3) and seasoned French oak barrels. Red with well formed legs; dry medium-bodied with freshly balanced acidity medium phenolics. Perfumed graphite and red fruit nose. Red fruit with spice. Very focused and fresh. More of claret-style of Cahors. Easy to drink and like. BearScore: 91.
