Ferrari-carano Fume Blanc Sauvignon Blanc White Wine

Tasting notes ferrari-carano’s 2016 fume blanc is a delicious wine with aromas and flavors of grapefruit pineapple guava citrus lemon grass and a touch of minerality. This wine has bright acidity and crisp freshness from the cool stainless steel tank fermentation while the subtle oak character from neutral french oak barrels adds body complexity and depth. Vintage notes overall 2016 was a good year with a spring that produced great set. Despite a third year of drought conditions with some rains in our area the vines produced ideal yields. Overall warmer temperatures during the summer months allowed fruit to achieve mature ripe flavors. The grapes were harvested in late august and early september. Winemaker notes this wine is a blend of sauvignon blanc grapes from various appellations in sonoma county – dry creek alexander and russian river valleys.
