Growing region the 2016 vintage in eden valley a sub-region of barossa valley was very warm with several heat spikes that hastened development in the grapes. Good rainfall over the winter and early spring was followed by a very dry summer with warmer-than-normal temperatures. Winemaker andrew hales wanted to retain the fresh stone fruit peach and nectarine flavors that are a hallmark of this wine. The rogers and haselmere vineyards in eden valley were the primary sources for the 2016 greg norman estates chardonnay. Additionally a small amount of adelaide hills chardonnay from the angas vineyard was blended into this wine to add complexity and a certain delicacy to the final blend.
