Montes Alpha Syrah

”The 2015 season was dry with considerable luminosity and very good temperatures which enabled the fruit to develop without threat of disease. Despite a summer with very high temperatures including some historic peaks in March the grapes reached the winery without excesses of dehydration and therefore the alcohol levels are well balanced. The grapes were very healthy upon arrival at the winery and resulted in wines with very good color and tannins and excellent phenolic ripeness. We changed some of the techniques used in the winery this season such as fermenting at lower temperatures while maintaining our policy of not macerating with stems and avoiding the excessive use of mechanical procedures. This change has resulted in wines that are very elegant and balanced with beautiful color and especially great harmony. The grapes for this season’s Montes Alpha Syrah were harvested on staggered dates between March 19 and April 24. The Montes Alpha Syrah is an intense ruby-red color
