Plungerhead Zinfandel Lodi

Tasting notes complex and juicy this lodi zinfandel explodes with brambly fruit aromas as well as toasted coconut sandlewood tanned leather clove and freshly grated nutmeg. The palate is layered with fruit and spice showcasing blueberry strawberry pie filling sweet cherry milk chocolate graham cracker thyme and white pepper. Winemaker notes an outstanding vintage overall for wine quality the yields were naturally low which led to highly concentrated fruit flavors. This lodi zinfandel was sourced from five signature vineyards in the heart of lodi producing a blend with great aromatics and old vine depth. All harvested in late september the brix levels were right around 26 degrees. Fermentations were performed with a combination of bayanus yeast strains to ferment the wine dry at higher alcohol levels. We then aged these wines in a combination of american and french oak with 60% new wood. To add some structure and complexity to this vintage we added petite sirah. Fin
