A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon 12% Merlot (80% Oak Knoll 10% Rutherford 10% Oakville District) cold soaked for 2 days in open-top temperature-controlled fermenters. Fermentation started with indigenous yeasts and finished with cultured yeasts with two daily punch downs. Malo-lactic fermentation and 14 months aging in all French oak barrels (30% new). Red purple color with well formed legs; dry medium-bodied with balanced acidity and medium-plus phenolics. Dusty tobacco-scented red and a bit of black fruit Cabernet Sauvignon offering oak and earth with notes of cedar and spice. BearScore: 91.
