
Tonnino Syrah
''CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SOIL: Relatively deep soils of medium texture with a mix of limestone and sand. Dark soils with a good content of organic matter. VINEYARD AREA: Belice valley at an altitude between 350-500 mt above sea-level. HARVESTING: Grapes are harvested early September with full ripening of the grapes. WINEMAKING: Vinified with 12-15 days long maceration at 26 °C with daily pump - overs. After racking the wine is matured 30% in stainless steel tanks and 70% on French medium toast oak for 4months before being bottled. COLOUR: Intense red. TASTING NOTES: Intense purplish black with violet hues. Evident aromas of violet and blackcurrant enriched by hints of liquorices and black pepper. The mouth is full and the tannins are well balanced by a round body with a toasted and spicy finish.
