Each month, Spec’s highlights a nonprofit whose mission is near and dear to our hearts. You might have seen some of our posts on social media or displays in our stores highlighting them. It’s because of your support we were able to raise over one million dollars last year for our charities, and we’re on pace to raise even more this year!

ABOUT SPEC’S CHARITABLE FOUNDATION
The Spec’s Charitable Foundation is dedicated to honoring the legacy of its founders through impactful philanthropy. Spec’s is committed to supporting education and cultural enrichment by funding scholarships, fostering partnerships with educational institutions, and underwriting music and arts programs. Initiatives such as the annual golf tournament for the University of Houston Hilton School of Hotel and Restaurant Management, scholarships for employees’ families, and the Vintage Virtuoso fundraiser for the Houston Symphony, reflect the passion Spec’s has for empowering students, supporting Texas communities, and promoting the arts.
OUR ANNUAL VIRTUOSO EVENT
Spec’s Charitable Foundation has rallied the beverage industry in support of our annual fundraiser, Vintage Virtuoso, for over twenty five years. Each year, we celebrate our commitment to the Houston Symphony and its outreach and education initiatives. We strive to raise awareness about the vital role of music in a child’s complete education and the increasing need for funding to support these essential programs
As funding for music programs in public schools has dwindled, Spec’s Charitable Foundation has partnered with the Houston Symphony to support its initiatives. Our Salute to Educators Concert was established to recognize local educators for their dedication to enriching young lives through the arts, and it remains the only event of its kind in the region. Vintage Virtuoso has now raised over one million dollars to support the Houston Symphony, its outreach efforts, and community engagement.
Your contribution will directly benefit the fund that supports our annual, free Salute to Educators Concert. This event features the winner of the Concerto Competition, a side-by-side performance with a distinguished youth orchestra, and the presentation of the Fidelity FutureStage Awards for Outstanding Music Educators, the Spec’s Charitable Foundation Award for Excellence in Music Education, and the School Bell Award.
OUR ANNUAL GOLF EVENT
Once a year, Spec’s puts on the largest charity golf tournament in the Houston area with the Hilton College Wine and Spirits Program as our beneficiary. More than 430 golfers representing a wide range of beverage companies participate in the tournament every year. The event also provides the student volunteers the opportunity to serve as ambassadors for the College and network with beverage professionals at the post-tournament reception. Through this event, we have been instrumental in funding multiple scholarships for the future leaders of the hospitality industry and we’ve even been able to establish an endowed professorship in the Beverage Management program.
