National Margarita Day is today! Whether you’re a fan of classic margaritas, frozen margaritas, flavored margaritas or have your own unique twist, there’s a reason to celebrate! Standing proud as the most popular tequila-based drink in the U.S., the margarita quickly took off in the mid 1940s and has remained a favorite.
To help kick start your festivities, we’ve put together some delicious margarita recipes!
Classic Margarita
1 ½ oz tequila
1 oz orange liqueur
½ oz lime juice
Splash of simple syrup
Coarse salt to rim the glass
Wet the rim of a margarita glass and dip into course salt. Combine all ingredients in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into your glass.
Frozen Mango Margarita
2/3 cup tequila
2 tbsp orange liqueur
10 oz frozen diced mango
¼ cup lime juice
2 tbsp fine sugar
2/3 cup water
Add all ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth and divide among four margarita glasses.
Pomegranate Margarita
3 oz tequila
1 oz orange liqueur
¼ cup pomegranate juice
¼ cup lime juice
1 ½ cup ice cubes
Coarse salt to rim the glass
Wet rim of two glasses and dip in salt. Combine ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
