The Fourth of July is nearly here, and Spec’s has everything you need to get prepped for a patriotic party! Here’s a cocktail each that are red, white, and blue, plus a luscious layered concoction to be done in batches of six, so no one will miss the fireworks!
Rocket’s Red Glare
1 peeled orange section
1 ½ oz gin
1 oz sweet cherry juice
1 ½ tsp simple syrup
2 dashes bitters
Sparkling wine
Orange twist, for garnish
Muddle the orange section in a cocktail shaker, then add gin, cherry juice, simple syrup, bitters, and ice and shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass, top with sparkling wine, and garnish with the twist.
Spirit of ‘76
2 oz coconut vodka
1 oz white chocolate liqueur
1 oz white crème de cacao
Pour all ingredients into a martini shaker filled halfway with ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass.
National Treasure
2 oz vodka
1 oz blue curacao
2 oz white grape juice
Club soda
Pour all ingredients except soda in a ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake until blended. Strain into a highball glass filled with fresh ice.
Star Spangled Banner
1 1/2 cup of ice
1 1/2 cup vodka
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup frozen white peaches
blender or food processor
Set out six cocktail flutes or other slim, tall glasses. Puree 1/2 cup of ice and 1/2 cup of vodka with the raspberries. Divide between your glasses, filling them 1/3 of the way. Next, puree 1/2 cup of ice and 1/2 cup of vodka with the peaches. Divide between your glasses.Finally, puree 1/2 cup of ice and 1/2 cup of vodka with the blueberries. Divide between your glasses, filling them up the rest of the way. Serve immediately. Serves 6.
