It’s that magical time of year when we get to take a look back at how the last twelve months went through the lens of what we liked best. And while lists of the top movies, music, and books are at the top of the list for lists, this is Spec’s and we’re all about the cocktails!
Every year we post dozens of cocktail recipes for you to try at home, and every year you have your favorites. So, after having our highly advanced AI scrutinize your facial muscles to decipher your favorite recipes, we can mow present to you the top four cocktails of 2021! (By “highly advanced AI” we just mean having Carl look at which ones got the most likes, but AI sounds way cooler.)
Jalapaloma
This spicy little number mixes in some heat to balance the sweet of a traditional paloma!
Ingredients
2 ½ cups Teremana Tequila
2 ½ cups Grapefruit Juice
Fever Tree Club Soda
1 cup lime juice
1 cup water
5 tbsp. agave nectar
½ tsp. salt
Garnish: jalapeño slice and lime wedge
Directions
Pour all ingredients except club soda into a pitcher and stir.
Chill for 1 hour.
Rim glasses with lime and salt.
Pour over ice, top with club soda.
Garnish with lime and jalapeño. Enjoy!
Pretty In Peep
As well as having an adorable name, our Pretty in Peep cocktail was a hit on Easter!
Ingredients
2 oz. Absolut Raspberri Vodka
4 oz. Raspberry Lemonade
2 oz. Topo Chico
Rasberries, Lemon & Peep for garnish
Directions
Add a couple raspberries and a slice of lemon to the bottom of your glass and fill with ice.
Add the vodka, raspberry lemonade, and top off with Topo Chico.
Stir gently and garnish with a Peep marshmallow!
Campfire Marg
Our Campfire Margarita is the perfect fall twist on a Texas classic thanks to the fresh muddled rosemary!
Ingredients
2 oz. Código Reposado Tequila
½ oz. Spec’s Agave Nectar
1 ¼ oz. Langers Ruby Red Grapefruit
¼ oz. Lime Juice
2 Rosemary sprigs
Directions
Fill a glass with ice and add the rosemary and agave nectar to a cocktail shaker.
Muddle the rosemary then add the tequila, grapefruit and lime juices, and ice to the shaker.
Shake and strain into your glass. Garnish with a sprig and enjoy!
Lavender Lemon Drop
A sprig of lavender provides a refreshingly floral twist on the classic lemon drop martini!
Ingredients
2 oz. Absolut Citron Vodka
1 oz. Lemon juice
1 tbsp. Simple Syrup
Lavender sprig or garnish
Directions
In a cocktail shaker, lightly muddle the lavender and simple syrup.
Add vodka, lemon juice, and fill the shaker with ice.
Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with a lavender sprig.
