July is blender season at Spec’s! Nothing makes hosting easier than simply dumping ingredients into a blender and then pouring out cups of delicious sunshine to eager guests. And there isn’t an easier go-to cocktail than the classic daiquiri. Made with only 3 ingredients: rum, sugar, and lime; the daiquiri is the perfect drink to hone your bartending skills. With a few simple additions, you’ll be slinging top-shelf tropical delight in no time!

Honeydew Daiquiri

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour into your favourite cocktail glasses.
  3. Garnish with a few slices of fresh honeydew.

 

Golden Glove Daiquiri

Ingredients

  • 2 oz white rum
  • 1 teaspoon Cointreau
  • ½ oz lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Garnish: lime half-wheel

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
  2. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh crushed ice.
  3. Garnish with a lime half-wheel.

 

Hemingway Daiquiri

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a chilled cocktail glass, garnish with lime, and serve.

 

I Shot The Sherry, But I Did Not Shoot the Daiquiri

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Combine rum, lime, and sugar in a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake well and fine strain into a cocktail glass.
  3. Serve with a shot of Fino sherry on the side.

(It’s recommended to take a shot of sherry first and then to drink the Daiquiri)

 

Apple Daiquiri

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz rum
  • 0.5 oz apple juice
  • 0.5 oz lime juice
  • 0.25 oz simple syrup

Directions

  1. Combine ingredients in a shaker ½ full of ice. Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
