SXSW A-Listers

SXSW A-Listers

Are you in Austin for SXSW? If not, you should be. If so, then here are two things you must do:
1. Pick up your SXSW guest pass at any Spec’s store in Austin so you can get on the A-list! This is your chance to win prizes and get invited to shows, official parties and special events!

2. Austin is a gold mine for quality craft brews. Be sure to stop by Spec’s to stock on all the best beers the capital city has to offer from these A-list breweries!

Austin Beerworks
Austin Beerworks was started by four friends with a passion for craft beer. The brewery is famous for their iconic cans, which the founders say, “get cold faster and the beer stays gooder longer.”

Fire Eagle IPA: This is a bold American IPA with generous hops that will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to tackle SXSW. It is sharp and fruity with a lingering creamy head and a dry finish.

Hops & Grain Brewery
This award-winning brewery is dedicated to creating quality beer through sustainable and environmentally responsible practices. In fact, it sources all key ingredients from local and green providers.

Alteration Ale: This German-style ale has a base of pilsner malt with a blend of Munich, Vienna and debittered black malt. It has a classic, upfront maltiness with earthy hops and a clean, crisp finish.

Independence Brewing Co.
From year-round to seasonal beers, this south Austin gem has something to please everyone and prides itself on handcrafting and hand bottling its beers.

Austin Amber: Smooth and refreshing, this beer is as easygoing as Austin. Its delicious caramel sweetness is perfectly balanced by American hops, and its crisp finish is sure to leave you wanting more.

Live Oak Brewing Co.
Live Oak’s old-world style beers are taking off across the state. Homegrown in east Austin, the brewery’s two founders hand-built it from the ground up, acting as keg washers, delivery persons and proselytizers.

HefeWeizen: This beer is cloudy and straw in color with a thick, creamy head. It has subtle notes of clove, vanilla and banana, and finishes with a refreshing tartness.

Owned and operated by the same Houston family since 1962, Spec’s is a true destination shopping experience. We now operate over 150 stores all over the great state of Texas and offer a large selection of wines, spirits and finer foods.
