(Red) Spiked Strawberry Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 1 pint strawberries, trimmed and halved (357 grams)
  • 24 oz. water, divided
  • 12 oz. vodka
  • 8 oz lemon juice
  • ½ cup sugar

Directions

  1. Add strawberries, sugar, and 8 oz. of water to a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium high heat, then lower heat to a simmer for 10-15 minutes or until the strawberries mash easily when pressed against the side of the pan with the back of a spoon.
  2. Add strawberry mixture to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Strain mixture into a bowl or directly into the serving pitcher to remove any remaining seeds and chunks.
  3. Allow strawberry mixture to cool before adding remaining ingredients and stirring.
  4. Serve in a mason jar or highball glass with plenty of ice. Garnish with lemon and strawberry slices.

(White) White Wine Mojito

Ingredients

  • 1 (750-milliliter) bottle white wine
  • 2 cups sparkling lemonade
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1 cup fresh mint
  • Sugar, to taste, depending on the sweetness of the lemonade
  • 1 lime, for garnish

Directions

  1. Chill the white wine and Italian sparkling lemonade.
  2. Once well-chilled, mix the wine and sparkling lemonade in a large pitcher. Juice 2 limes and add to the wine and lemonade.
  3. Mince ¾ cups of fresh mint and add to the pitcher (add mint right before serving, otherwise the leaves begin to brown).
  4. Add optional sugar to taste, especially if the sparkling lemonade is light on the sweet factor. Mix well.
  5. Thinly slice the remaining lime to garnish glass rims and add a sprig of mint leaves to liven things up even more. Serve over ice.
