‘Cue the Corkscrew!

Did you know that May is National BBQ month? We’re pretty confident we won’t have to try very hard to convince Texans to celebrate. And while we won’t tell you how to cook the perfect ‘cue, we’ll definitely lend you our expertise on the perfect pairing for your favorite BBQ.

BBQ Brisket: It’s nearly impossible to make Texas brisket any better but try pairing it with Summers Zinfandel. This is a rich and complex red with flavors of blackberry, licorice and smoky sandalwood. The brisket will pull the complexities of this Zinfandel together for a flavorful experience.
Add a side! Spec’s Greek Salad is the perfect complement to both your brisket and the Summers Zinfandel.

BBQ Chicken: If you’re going with a classic BBQ chicken, try the Monchhof Estate Riesling. It is a fresh and well-balanced white wine with flavors of peach and a touch of acidity that will round out your chicken nicely.
Add a side! What better way to complete your BBQ than with a touch of sweetness? Spec’s Sliced Fruit Platter is a great way to top off your meal.

BBQ Pork and BBQ Turkey: Bliss Pinot Noir is a great choice for your lighter meats and game birds like turkey. The mouth is full with rich fruit and a touch of clove leading to a long structured finish.
Add a side! Try adding Spec’s Southwest Salad to your menu. The Bliss Pinot Noir will bring out its flavors, and it will also be a great starter to your BBQ.

BBQ Ribs: You definitely can’t go wrong with ribs during National BBQ month. But to enhance their flavor, try pairing them with Chateau St. Jean Fume Blanc. This blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon has generous citrus flavors and herbal aromas and will be the perfect addition to your backyard feast.
Add a side! Spec’s Tomato and Mozzarella Salad will add a light and refreshing flavor to your meal and will complement your ribs nicely.
